Herringbone is an arrow-like pattern that wooden planks are installed in. Similar in style to chevron, which is also arrow-like, herringbone floors have a more rustic feel than chevron. This is the result of how the boards meet in an angled pattern, with chevron looking much smoother and more arrow-like.
