Project Spotlight: Westminster Presbyterian Church

Working in the flooring industry, Ozburn-Hessey has the privilege to complete commercial flooring for some of the neatest venues in Nashville. The Country Music Hall of Fame, MTSU and First Baptist Church are just a few examples. Helping improve the look and efficiency of these places is what Ozburn-Hessey does best. Whether they install acoustical ceilings, commercial carpet, or even hardwood, the team does their best to ensure the best looking floor for your space.

Recently, Ozburn-Hessey had the pleasure of working on the floors for Westminster Presbyterian Church on West End Avenue as part of a huge remodel for the church. The church refinished their pews, installed new organ pipes and and restored the old windows. Though Ozburn-Hessey was not involved in the design process, the team was able to complete a variety of jobs, enhancing the overall look of the building’s interior.

A crew of three employees sanded and refinished the original hardwoods (over 5,00 square feet) in the sanctuary in just 4 days earlier this March. The team used a commercial water-based polyurethane for durability. Two workers installed commercial carpet for the lobby and the balcony floors over the course of five days. Westminster chose Masland’s Dividend, Keystone and Mat’s Inc. Diagonal Tile carpet for the space.

And like many churches, Ozburn-Hessey installed customized runners for the stairs and aisles using Masland’s Dividend. The edges of the runners were completed on site with serged edges instead of binding. It took the crew about two days to install the runners, and overall, Ozburn-Hessey completed the flooring installation in less than two weeks.
